Help start error

good evening and thank you for this wonderful forum.
I just installed the bot following the readme text guides and it enters the game, but just before putting the pass, it exits.
It is updated to the latest patch.

First and foremost, welcome to the forum!

A quick question before exploring what we might try…

  • Does the game run without D2Bot.exe? Can you log in and play legitly?

If so, it may be that you may be experiencing something similar to the two recent posters.

  • Suggestion: explore if a virus/firewall software is not permitting D2Bot.exe to connect to battlenet.
  • Depending on your security software, find where you can elevate D2Bot.exe’s security permission.

We’ll start here. We’ll try other actions if this does not help.

Hi, im also new here and hope for some help.
I have the same error on Start the Bot and i can login manually but it abort after a few seconds. i think its every time after the same time period it abort. so i can wait for abort before he try to go on d2.server or i can click it and then i have maybe 2-3 seconds left.
Once i was quickly and log in to d2.server but then its abort nevertheless.

What can it be?
(My Kaspersky have to give the bot free ways)

Thanks for helping to repair this issues. (Sorry for my english, im from switzerland^^)

Hi @Spooner,

Please, just 2 quick questions:

  • Can you play as well as access battlenet without starting up D2Bot.exe?
  • Can you disable your firewall and your virus protection for one test?

If so, please try these after you have disabled your firewall/antivirus:

  • Run the d2Bot.exe and go to the European realm for the next test. There is no queue line on the European servers.
  • Once you are signed in and in the European realm, please make a test character and then join or make a game manually using the D2BotMap.dbj as your Entry Script.

Were you able to join or make a game and not be dropped? What I am doing is checking to see if your firewall or antivirus may be blocking your attempts.

Thank you @Spooner and welcome to the forum!

Hi @sensiblekitteh,
Thanks for your fast answer. I checked your Tips.
So im anyway on Realm “Europe”. Thats not the Problem. And D2 runs without Bot normaly.
The Bot only starts D2 and then do nothing. The Startscreen changed after a few seconds automaticly to the screen with the Buttons, 1 Second later the Bot aborts.
“D2BS is not responding… starting profile” is the message in Console.

I tryed to deactivate the Firewall and the Antivirus from Kaspersky and Defender from Windows.
Nothing helps, same issues and also same issues when i changed the Profile to D2BotMap.dbj
I starts the Bot with this Script and i was fast with login. But where i was klick at the Char, the Time was over and it kicks me out…

Edit: I tryed install the Bot on Laptop. There it works with same Antivirus and activated all Firewalls

Shoot. I just saw your response. I need to activate push messages from this forum.

On the computer where it does not work:

  • Oh?! Does the bot actually make a game which your character enters? And,
  • then, a few moments in the game in drops?

Or,

  • Does the bot stop working even before it makes a game?

What OS is on your laptop and what OS is on your main system?

If you are running Windows 10, then you will not need the following.
If you have Windows 7 on your main system, please, and if you have not done this before, apply these two Microsoft updates:

I hope that we can find what might be the issue. As it runs on your laptop.

@sensiblekitteh
Its not what i do, its abort always after the same time. in this time i can login manualy or i can wait on startscreen. but the time is not enought tu login into a game. monstly on Charakterselect i will drop.
The bot only starts de Program. After it does nothing and drop after a few seconds (+/- 6 after Programstart)

On Laptop i use Win10 Home and on Desktop PC i use Win10 Pro
On both is installed Visual Studio. so i have sure the Version of .NET Framework 4.8 or higher.

That is odd.
Just so that I understood your description…

On your main computer:

  • Your D2Bot.exe starts.
  • While it is in the character select screen, it sometimes drops.

On your laptop:

  • The same bot application runs fine.

That is so weird and frustrating.
If it were me experiencing those issues, where it runs well on a laptop, yet not on my desktop, I would try this next and as a test. It takes a long time to do this, yet a virtual machine instance is a great tool not only for troubleshooting, but also to manage a separate space for d2 which is away from your main use of your computer.

On your main computer running Win10 Pro:

  • Create a Hyper-V virtual machine and set it up to use at least 2 to 4GBs of RAM.
  • Install a copy of Win 7 (Home or Pro does not matter).
  • (You do not need to use a Win7 key to run the OS for what appears to be a long time.)
  • Let that copy of Win 7 do all of its gazillion updates.
  • Before installing the game, please, install the two Windows dependencies from the links above.
  • Now, install the game and its patch manually, yet not the bot.
  • See if the game runs legitly.
  • If all is good, then install the bot.

That is all I can think of trying. I am stuck on why the game closes even after disabling antivirus and the firewall. I hope that if you try creating a VM, that it works.

Hi @sensiblekitteh

Sorry my late answer but i havent the Time to test it.
Now i do this:

  • Activate Hyper-V on my Desktop PC
  • Install Win10 Home (Same like LapTop)
  • Install Battlenet App
  • Install Diablo 2 from Battlenet Installer
  • Install Diablo 2 LoD from Battlenet Installer
  • Runs good…
  • Download Kolbot again with this Instance
  • Run Maphack (so i dont have to do some big Settings)
  • Same issues here =(

Next try is same with Win7 like u sayd. But i think the Problem must be an Option from my Desktop PC. We will see…

Update:
I cant download the Win7 in German now. I try a Version of Win 7 Home Premium 64bit in English.

Update 2:
Now its creepy. I found some Page with same issues and there he sayd the Solution was to install: “Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)”
So i download it from MS and install it on VM Instance. So now it works o_O
But same trick dont run with real PC. Im Confused -.-

Hi there. I had fix the issues and i think it was the Raidcontroller i used, because i had 2 x m.2 SSD’s in Rain 0 for my Maindrive C:
So i have reinstall my Computer without Raid and now it works.

Thanks for ur inputs and happy xmas =)
