Nobody’s came across this??

I’d suggest following along with darcs how to videos, going over your configuration files, and or going over compatibility settings. Just some basic stuff, but seems to me that something basic is causing this.

really guys ? the support around here is that shitty? everyone keeps giving the same answer that does abosulutely nothing i dunno how many times ive tried fresh installs new configs… trying on 1 pc and 2 laptops get the same thing everytime

Hi @backwoodburner !
I am quite new, yet can share that many coders/helpers may not have as much time as they did in the past. Your tech issues are the most difficult as I do not know how your machine(s) is set up and if there are any errors due to Windows files being missing. So, it is a tough call.

Let me ask this first and see if we, at the very least, can exlore something that may have been overlooked.

  • After uninstalling everything related to d2bs/Kolton, do your diablo 2 games run legitly?

I’ll try to respond as quickly as a I can, yet forgive me if there are delays. Thanks for your patience.

Good morning,
I just wish to check if you are using the latest d2bs/kolton #20.6.7.100
and if you have installed these 2 dependencies:

We’ll go from there after you have responded and welcome to the forum! :video_game:

I Have actually got it working fix for me was disable anti virus

Oh?! @backwoodburner
Awesome! If you wish you can create a rule for your antivirus for the file and/or folder that was falsely flagged as containing a virus. This will help in not fully disabling your virus software which is important.

Here is an example that is for Norton, yet, it can be a guide/hint for other virus software, too.

Sorry that I could not be of help. Yet, your work to fix the issue is helpful for others. Thanks!

i am gonna try to disable it thru windows anti virus, i already disabled it on my fire wall so maybe the anti virus is the problem

@pissdrunkfrunk, Sounds good. Let us know if the error persists after the changes to the security apps. Thanks!

problem is still there for me, ive tried changing my game.exe paths and repatching the actual game and nothing.

ive downloaded all the framework also

id still have that secret svn file in my folder, ive played around with that a few times also and it wouldnt start up

Darn! I took a look at some Window 10 error message lists on Microsoft’s site.
What they say is a bit above my pay grade. Meaning, I am uncertain how to correct for the error.

The svn file is mostly for exploring the history of the updates of the bot’s various scripts and apps. I think that is what it’s there for.

Please, these may sound like basic questions, yet they may help me to better understand how far we can go with your setup.

  1. When you run D2Bot.exe, does D2Bot.exe run or does it open for a bit and then it, too, autoshuts down? What I mean by this is just to try starting D2Bot.exe and not starting the bot scripts.

  2. If D2Bot.exe runs, can you try to run a test character with your D2Bot Entry Script setting to D2BotBlank.dbj? It’s the right column of the list of parameters of d2bot’s GUI.

  • Please, try #2 above, then tell me if it does or does not do anything. No worries if you are busy. Just tell me when you have a moment.

when i run bot it instantly opens up and stays open, perfectly fine. no issues there

ive tried running d2botblank.dbj and it still comes up with the same error :frowning:

Ah! As d2botblank.dbj is the bot’s barebones script.
Shoot. I am stuck.

I would never ask you to do this following as it is such a lengthy process.
If I were the one experiencing a difficult to cure impasse, I’d do this:

  • fire up Win 10’s Hyper-V
  • create a Win 7 virtual machine
  • install d2 and d2lod and do a manual patch within the virtual machine
  • after fully running the game legitly to show that it runs on the VM, w/o the Kolton or any bot, then…
  • follow all the steps to install the new bot with those two framework dependencies that are mentioned

Again, it is a huge roundabout way to check if the bots can run without any errors. Yet, I am crazy enough to try that.

if you do not mind, start a new thread as this one is backwoodburner’s. That way peeps who may wish to chime in can add their ideas to your thread. I am sorry that I cannot help you pass that error message. If you do go the virtual machine route, please, let us know how that went. Sorry and I hope someone who has seen this before might chime in.

will do, didnt mean to hijack the thread just wanted to get in while i could! ill make a new thread in a little bit when i get hyper v figured out
