Just curious, does anyone know about how often Blizzard does a wave of bans for botters? Just trying to get an idea how long I have to have fun.

tldr; As far as they know, Blizzard hasn’t banned anyone permanently for using kolbot yet, but that doesn’t mean they can’t or won’t choose to in the future.
Latest massive ban waves were in 2017 based on different patches:
- May-June - the elimination of spam bots, -> chat filter was improved & Temp restrictions were applied to IP, keys, and accounts
- 24th August - patching the low level bumpers and the doors/caves accessing through tiles -> connection interrupted
- October-November - patching the using of wrong skills on left hand, right hand -> connection interrupted
- days after the 12th Dec 2017 - anticheat detection -> detection of d2nt and Etal 2.0 mh, also d2bs -> cannot access ladder characters
since March 2018 when d2bs was updated, its use was ok.
separately, on 16th August 2018 they patched the using of 16 alphanumeric strings d2lod keysets.
